The phone cooler market is crowded with budget options that promise a lot and deliver little. The TH16 Pro is a refreshing exception. Priced under $30, this magnetic semiconductor cooler packs features you'd normally find on units costing twice as much: a live wattage display, multiple cooling modes, AI temperature regulation, and even a braided cable in the box.

We put it through our standard thermal testing process, including center-zone, edge-zone, and dual-zone simulations at an ambient temperature of roughly 27 - 29°C. Here's what we learned, and whether it's worth adding to your gaming setup.

It draws obvious visual inspiration from the RedMagic Cooler 6 Pro—a squared, industrial aesthetic with prominent fan housing and a no-nonsense layout.  With up to 24 W output, it can cool the phone device well. What's more, different from others with coolers in the same price range, it has 4 adjust modes, a great display, and beautiful RGB Light.

The box itself is plain. Nothing fancy. But open it up, and the accessory bundle quickly justifies the purchase.

A Quick Note on the Tripod Clamp

The 1/4-inch thread opens up some clever uses—attaching the cooler to a phone rig while you film, or to a mount for navigation on long drives. That said, we'd recommend keeping it stationary. Moving around with a phone clamped to a cooler risks the whole thing slipping off. Use it at a fixed angle, and you'll be fine.

Design and Build Quality

The TH16 Pro borrows heavily from the RedMagic Cooler 6 Pro aesthetic, and that's a compliment. It looks clean and considered rather than generic. The metal mesh top houses the LED ring and display, with the radiator sitting at the center.

One smart design choice: the heat-dissipation fins run in a straight line rather than a circular pattern. Because of this layout, hot exhaust air blows away from your hands during normal horizontal gaming—even without traditional side air guards. It is a great feature that makes a real difference during extended horizontal gaming sessions, where hot exhaust blowing into your grip quickly becomes annoying.

Power comes in through a USB-C port with clean, gap-free finishing. The build quality overall is solid for the price.

Contact Surface 

The contact plate is metal and measures roughly 5cm in diameter—a touch smaller than the TH12Ai or TH28, but still generous. Metal transfers heat quickly and frosts evenly, which we confirmed in testing.

We powered the cooler with a compact 40W USB-C charger, which supplied more than enough for P3. A 65W charger gave identical results, so you don't need anything exotic—just a charger that comfortably handles 24W or more.

The Live Display Is a Genuine Advantage

The on-unit display shows both wattage and temperature, and you can toggle between them with the right button. This is more useful than it sounds.

With most coolers, you'd need a separate USB power tester or a fancy power bank to confirm you're getting enough wattage. The TH16 Pro shows it right on the device. In our testing, the displayed wattage tracked within about 1–1.5W of our external meter. That's close enough to trust at a glance.

The temperature reading is precise—it ran about 0.1°C off from our thermal gun measurements, likely because the internal sensor measures a different point than the contact surface. Treat it as a useful reference, not a lab-grade number.

LED Toggle and Fan Boost

Long-pressing the right button turns the LED off. This is a small but meaningful feature. If you game at night next to someone sleeping—or you're sneaking in a late session—being able to kill the lights matters. We appreciated it.

Long-pressing the left button ramps the fan up incrementally to 100%. A faster fan cools the radiator more effectively, which helps the Peltier chip work harder. Power draw climbs by about 1W to a stable ~24W with boost engaged.

Final Thought

The TH16 Pro is one of the most complete phone coolers you can buy for under $30. It nails the fundamentals—strong center-zone cooling, 

solid build, and a genuinely useful feature set—while throwing in extras like a braided cable, a tripod clamp, and an on-device wattage display that even some premium coolers lack.

It isn't flawless. The lack of mode memory is a daily annoyance, the fins get warm, and edge-zone cooling has clear physical limits. But none of these are serious problems given the price.

If you want real cooling performance, multi-mode control, and practical features without spending big, the TH16 Pro is an easy recommendation. It delivers far more than its price tag suggests.

Does the TH16 Pro work with iPhone and Android?

Yes. The magnetic mount works natively with MagSafe-compatible iPhones. For Android phones without built-in magnets, the included adhesive metal ring provides a secure connection point, and the spring clamp works as a non-magnetic option for any device.

What charger do I need for the TH16 Pro?

A USB-C charger that handles at least 24W is recommended. We used a compact 40W charger with no issues, and a 65W charger gave identical results. An underpowered charger will reduce cooling performance. If you use the lower 24W charger, it will stop when you use the P3 mode when it tries to reach 24W halfway.

Does the TH16 Pro remember my last cooling mode?

No. The cooler resets to P3 (max) every time you power it on. You'll need to reselect AI mode or any other setting after each power cycle.

Will AI mode cause condensation on my phone?

Condensation was minimal in our testing—just light moisture at the metal edges. For completely condensation-free use during overnight charging, the low manual fan setting (~5–6W) is the safer choice, holding the surface above 20°C.

Can the TH16 Pro cool the heat near the camera module?

Partially. Like most coolers this size, it handles center-zone heat far better than offset edge heat. Adding a metal heat-spreader ring improved edge cooling noticeably in our tests.
